I paint expressive animal portraits on a black background with white paint, using only one brush size.

This method gives my works a striking presence on a matt black, harmonious background.

How an artwork is created

1

Selection

I am looking for expressive animal motifs. A network of professional and amateur photographers from all over the world provide me with the photos.

2

Primer

I have developed my own process for the matt black primer. This technique creates a homogeneous base coat.

3

Painting

Line by line and with only one brush size, patience is put to the test. I learned the technique self-taught and developed my own handwriting.

4

Framing

A custom-made shadow gap frame made of black lacquered pine wood frames the unique piece. Handmade in Switzerland.

5

Exhibition

The unique piece is photographed with a Hasselblad medium format camera before being sold. The photo is used to create limited edition prints in museum quality.
